Million dollar home saved from serious damage by Thermal Imaging Cameras
At 2157 hours, a full assignment was dispatched to 8 Bayberry Road for an “inside odor of smoke.”
Responding units found a slight odor, but no apparent source. A thorough examination of the interior of the structure, with the use of Thermal Imaging Cameras, revealed hot spots in the rear of a customized set of drawers in a walk-in closet.
Upon opening the wall behind these drawers revealed significant charring and burning as the source of the odor.
Three Class A foam pressurized water extinguishers were used to extinguish the fire, without causing unnecessary water damage.
Following the extinguishment, careful salvage operations were conducted to further minimize interior damage.
An excellent job was done by responding members, underscoring the importance of proper use of Thermal Imaging.
