It was with deep regret that the Elmsford Fire Department announced the passing of Former Chief John Reynolds on December 25th, following a long illness.

John, a Life Member of Live Oak Engine Company, served as Chief of Department from 2000 to 2002 and again from 2004 to 2006.

He was also a long time employee of the Village of Elmsford Water Department.

John was buried today with full Department Honors.

This included the following:

A funeral procession of numerous Elmsford Police Units, Chief Cars 2111 & 2113 and Engines 137 & 237.

All other Elmsford FD apparatus were staged in front of the church.

Pallbears consisted of Deputy Chiefs Ed Rush and Mike Eannazzo, Captain Steve Woehrle, Lieut. Tyler Rush, Former Captain Carlos Torres and Firefighter Joe Diaz.

A funeral mass at Mt. Carmel Church, which was celebrated by Elmsford FD Chaplain Father Jude.

Bagpipe tunes by pipers and a drummer from the Pipes & Drums of the Police Emerald Society of Westchester.

A large American flag tribute was setup by Thornwood FD Tower Ladder 1 and Valhalla FD Tower Ladder 49.

Our sincere thanks to all those who participated in honoring our Former Chief.

Our sincere thanks also to Tarrytown FD and Hawthorne FD EMS, who covered our runs during Tuesday's wake; and to Fairview FD and Greenburgh PD EMS, who covered our runs during the funeral.
